At the cabin

On top of being a kind, loyal, caring friend and coworker, and her other wonderful qualities, Maarit also was a great athlete.  One summer Sari and I spend a few days at the cabin on Hawkins Lake with her. We decided to go and check the other shore of the lake. Sari and I got into the rowboat but Maarit said maybe she will swim. I thought she will swim a little ways and then get into the boat, no, she swam all the way across the lake. It is not a small lake. We had such good time, lots of laughter. We were also at the lake in winter time. No swimming in "avanto", hole in the ice, but great walks/ skiing on the creaky ice. Her hospitality was limitless, she let us share her Paradise.These memories and many more will stay with us forever.
