A lifetime of stories with my Dad

When I think of Dad I think of doing things. He was always busy with something, even if it was just relaxing with a book by the fireplace. There were so many things he showed us, taught us and learned with us. Discovering the secrets of ancient ruins and temples. Hunting christmas trees on the side of the road. How to hit your head on anything with a sharp corner. Building things with nothing but your hands, some tools and a good idea of what the finished product was going to look like. Snapping a wrist shot high glove side. How to fall down a double black diamond ski hill. How to curse and wail when your sand wedge fails you. The intricacies of the American Football game. Him laughing quietly while you took 15 photos of the sunset proclaiming each time "this one is even better than the last". The wisdom of doing homework first and watching TV second, rather than the other way around. He left me a lifetime of stories and reflections as I'm sure he did with all of you who are visiting this site. I encourage anyone who feels like sharing to write down their own "best memory". In this celebration of life, we look to rejoice on a life that was lived to the fullest.
