Cousin Al

We all have our fond memories of our cousin. Like the time we 3 Higginson boys all rode down a dirt path at the Olds farm on one bicycle that Al was riding. That we were able to do it and not kill ourselves, and how our parents ever allowed it to happen are still mysteries to me. Or like the time he showed up at our farm in Newberg in his Sunbeam on a road trip to California. Just showing up out of the blue, and bringing a little sunshine to the moment, was a gift he had. So nice that Alistair was able to spend time with his family on Christmas. We've been so fortunate to have all our kids (and significant others) home for the holidays. In fact Gayle and I took Reid and Emily over to nephew David Higginson's house last night. We talked about Al, whom he had met. It was so fun to see Dave and Becky's 3 kids tumbling and dancing and having pillow fights in the front room. I think Alistair would have gotten a real kick out of it.
