sea trials

Well James and I used to do a lot of sea trials when we were getting ready to build DOLPHIN . On one occasion  James jumped into a dry suit so we could make adjustments to our model "dolphin" he had blown quite a bit of air into his sut and started to float away as we were operating at high tide in Burrard Inlet  and he started drifting away on the out-going tide , heading staright out to sea. The only way to stop him was to lassoo him or deflate the suit. The operating vave to vent the sut was on the port side and his arms would not bend, so we manouvered our boat alongside and used a pike pole to jab the vent  , eventually we were successful, effected the changes to the model and completed the trial .  After which we relaxed at  the Port Arms for refreshment.
