We will always remember Marg as a most gracious and godly lady. In our early days in Vancouver, Ben and Marg were the first few persons to open their homes and their hearts to our family. We remember the countless meals we have had in their homes, and they were by no means a simple affair. The table is always nicely set, china and silverware, a centrepiece. Despite all that, Marg is always apologizing that she has somehow not done enough. I was then a new pastor to Vancouver BP Church, and I cannot tell you how much those times meant to me and my family.
As a pastor, I am always looking for people who can serve as godly mentors for the young believers, and in my pre-marital counselling, whenever I think of a godly couple that would serve as a mentor, Ben and Marg are one of the first couples to come to my mind. I still share some of the stories they told us sitting in their living room having a cuppa after dinner -- stories of their travels and their ministries.
Always giving. Always gracious. Never complaining.
It makes me think that the world is a little dimmer with Marg going home. But heaven has a bright star today.
So Marg, now we bless God for you, and when we meet again, we will bless God with you.
